Support Worker vacancy

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Floating Support Team in Swansea. If you are looking for a role that supports young people through their transition into independent living, this could be the job for you.

A working knowledge around housing management is desirable, but not essential.

What is more important to us is a “can do” attitude towards teamwork and helping young people achieve their potential.

Location: Swansea

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £20,858 per annum

Hours: 35 hours a week.  Core hours would be Monday to Friday 9.30 – 5pm; however flexibility is required to work outside of these hours to support young people when they need it most, there will be a rota for cover outside of core hours.

Support Workers take part in the ‘1st tier’ On Call rota.  Providing On Call support and advice for young people supported, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with.  This may require providing out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible.

    What age groups is it aimed at? How much prior experience is required or necessary? What type of experience is desirable?

    1. Hi Elizabeth. The age group is 16 to 25 years. We usually ask for at least one year’s experience of working with young people, in a paid, unpaid or voluntary basis. All the details can be found on the job description.
